I truly can’t think of a better way to spend an afternoon than with the Bates family.
From the moment we met, it felt like we were old friends. You know those families who instantly make you feel at home? That’s them. The Bates family is the sweetest, and even though we had only just met, it honestly felt like I’d known them for a lifetime.
This session was everything I love about lifestyle family photography. We spent the afternoon blueberry picking, making pizza together, and letting the kids splash and play in the stream—no rush, no pressure, just real life unfolding beautifully. The laughter was constant, the moments were genuine, and the connection between them was so easy to see.
These are the kinds of sessions that don’t feel like work at all. They feel like an invitation into someone’s story—and I’m always so grateful for that trust. Capturing families exactly as they are, in the middle of everyday joy, is such a gift.
