In many of my blog posts, instagram stories, and conversations I love to reference my girls….or what I consider my SH Brides! These ladies are very special to me because they are the ones that I am able to work with, dream with… and share in one of the most personable and memorable event in life- THE WEDDING DAY! So what exactly does it mean to become a SH Bride and how is this experience different?
First….M Y P H I L O S O P H Y | I’m sure your mind is racing with all that needs to be planned. It’s all very exciting but it can also be somewhat overwhelming. You’re planning the day that you’ve been anticipating your whole life and yet you only get one shot at it! By the time you get the hang of it, the planning is over! My goal as a wedding photographer is to make this one aspect of the planning process simple. Photography is more than just images, it’s a real part of your day. Not only do you deserve beautiful images, you also deserve an amazing photographic experience. When my couples feel comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera, that results in genuine, joyful images! When I think back to my wedding day, I remember amazing memories…. but most of the moments I remember really well are the instances that were captured in my pictures. They are priceless to me. Our photographer made us feel so incredibly comfortable and for the first time, I experienced what it feels like to be in front of the camera as a bride. Your wedding day is an experience from beginning to end and your photography is a huge part of that experience….. shouldn’t it be fun? and enjoyable? and natural? I think so! My goal is to not only capture memories for my clients, it’s to create an experience that they will never forget.
Next…T H E P R O C E S S | One way I ensure that our brides and grooms enjoy the BEST photographic experience possible is through forming a relationship with my couples. I try my best to make sure that all of my couples are the PERFECT fit before officially booking. A bride and groom should connect with their photographer, trust their photographer and be EXCITED about the whole process with them! After booking, I love getting to know my clients through an ENGAGEMENT SESSION that helps them warm up to the camera so that they are ready to rock and roll on the wedding day! By the time the wedding day arrives, my clients feel more like friends and that creates a safe and relaxed environment for photography! I don’t believe that wedding photography is one-size-fits-all! I know that SH Brides are unique and I work VERY hard to find them! I serve a very specific type of bride who recognizes that if she wants joyful, genuine portraits of herself & her new groom, then she needs more than just pretty pictures. She needs an incredible EXPERIENCE!
The Wedding Experience is what I have specifically designed for my SH Couples because after seeing stressed out brides, and less then ideal timelines, I realized there are just some things that I will not do to my brides the disservice of allowing. I have basically completed a list of everything that every couple needs to ensure the most incredible wedding experience and I’ve decided not to offer anything less then that. After photographing so many weddings and knowing what makes for the ideal experience from start of the engagement session beyond the wedding day. The friendships and experiences that I’ve created with my #SH Couples lasts far beyond the wedding day and I believe that’s how it should be!
I love capturing beautiful images, but I know that pictures aren’t my true purpose in life…
It’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day tasks of our job. I have emails and edits and blog posts and albums and shoots to keep up with on a daily basis, but I know that those things are just tasks that need to be done and they aren’t the heartbeat of the business. I truly believe that interactions and experiences that I give my couples are a special opportunity! God has blessed me with the ability to not only do what I love, but He also brings AMAZING people into my life in the process. I believe that I have been given this business and gifts for the purpose of serving others and bringing joy into my couples’ lives! There is no greater feeling than seeing my work bring couples and their families to tears! I leave wedding days with big hugs, kisses on the cheeks, and full hearts knowing that we forever impacted two families!
