A Barn Wedding at Rayne Run | Marion Center, PA
John and Jessica are a beautiful couple. I’ve been looking forward to capturing their day since their engagement session last fall when I realized just how photogenic they both are! Not only are they natural in front of the camera but they are incredibly genuine and kind. Fast forward almost a year later and not only were they preparing for their wedding day but also their new home, right down the street from us! I am thrilled to have them so close and often see them walking their fur babies in the evening, really such a sweet sight.
I’ve only gotten to know Jessica over the past year however prior to that I had the pleasure of working with her sister, Jena, at Brookville School district where we were fellow teachers. I’m thrilled that I now have the pleasure of knowing the entire family because they are some of the kindest and most genuine people around. They made Molly and I feel right at home and were so accommodating. I also had the pleasure of getting to know John and his family and its obvious that John is really a perfect match for Jessica. The way they look at each other is endearing and the love they share is extra special.
There are many special things about this wedding day but one that stands out to me was the amount of butterflies all around! Gorgeous monarch butterflies surrounded us all day long and they added to the elegance and beauty of the day. This day also included a first look with Jessica and her father and one with Jessica and John. I wasn’t sure we were going to have time to fit it all in, but somehow everything always works out…even if we get a little off schedule. Coordinating the wedding day can be a challenge, and one of the of the biggest obstacles is getting to the first look without the bride and groom accidentally seeing each other. When John pulled into the venue and we were still outside photographing the girls, everyone ran into instant action and quickly made a human wall to hide the bride! Everything worked out and a sneak peek was thankfully avoided!
Knowing that Jessica wanted a variety of bride and groom portraits we included time for sunset photos. Molly and I were watching the sky turn from a partly cloudy day to that of storm clouds. We decided to cut out of the reception a little earlier then planned and I’m so thankful we did! Not only did the sky look amazing, we literally walked back to the barn minutes before a torrential downpour!
We felt so incredibly loved from the moment we arrived until we said our goodbyes. We’re so thankful for families that make us feel like a part of their world and welcome us with open arms! Jessica and John, I hope you are having an amazing honeymoon in Banff in Alberta, Canada!
Enjoy my favorite images from their gorgeous day! Thank you to all who helped make John and Jessica’s day a huge success!!
