A Shell Island Resort Wedding | Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina
The forecast was grim. A few days before Ethan and Brooke’s beach wedding, the weather was calling for Tropical Storm Elsa to be slamming North Carolina with incredibly strong winds, flooding and power outages. Claire and I kept saying to one another “What is going to happen with this wedding?!”. We refrained from asking Brooke what their plan was because we all hoped that the weather would quickly pass. Thankfully, that’s exactly what happened. Although the day started out very rainy and extremely windy their wedding was a dream to capture! Although I can say that it may have been a bit of a sand storm on the beach, we didn’t care. We had power, we had clear skies and everyone made the most of the entire situation.
Ethan and Brooke are a beautiful couple. I’ve been looking forward to capturing their day since their engagement session last year when I realized just how photogenic they both are! Not only are they natural in front of the camera but they are incredibly genuine and kind. I have no doubt that even if the weather had been different and we had been celebrating their day in the midst of a hurricane, these two would have been joyful. They were so excited to finally be married. When you see their genuine smiles and laughter in their portraits, it was normally because I was saying something like “Guys! In 60 minutes you’ll be husband and wife!!” or “You are getting married on the BEACH!” If someone reminded me of those two things I would be ecstatic too!!
Claire and I loved being surrounded by their family and friends. We were also very fortunate for our family to join us too so watching Kellan and his friend learn how to dance was priceless! Brooke and Ethan, congratulations on this special new season of life! Thank you for trusting us to capture your destination wedding!
Enjoy my favorites from their day!
