For several years now, we’ve made it a priority to schedule our family photos during vacation, and it has become one of our favorite traditions. Vacation is the one time we’re all truly together—unrushed, relaxed, and fully present—and each new destination gives us not only stunning backdrops, but new memories woven into our family story.
This year’s session was especially meaningful because our son Tim and his girlfriend, Rachel, joined us on our journey out west to Idaho. Having them there made the trip even more special, and documenting this season of our family’s life felt incredibly important. I loved everything about this destination family photo session—the gorgeous evening light, the scenic drive, the wide-open landscapes, and the sense of togetherness that naturally comes with travel. And of course, we were so lucky to have the amazing Katie Chavez behind the camera, capturing our family so beautifully and authentically.
