Pregnancy has been an emotional roller coaster for Amy and Frank, filled with both joy and anxiety. Over the past six years, they experienced five heartbreaking losses. This time, they decided to pursue IVF. They worked closely with a team of doctors at their fertility clinic. Hearing their baby’s heartbeat for the first time was a moment of pure joy. It was especially meaningful since they never made it past the first trimester in previous pregnancies.
During their maternity session, Amy shared that she has never felt God’s presence more than she has this year. She explained, “I know He guided me to this clinic and guided me on this journey. I considered IVF for three years before actually doing it. It never felt right, and I was terrified. This year, I wasn’t afraid because I could feel God telling me, ‘This is your time, and everything will be okay.’ It has been an amazing journey and made me wonder what I was so afraid of before… it just wasn’t my time yet.”
Amy also told me that before every appointment, she whispers a line from The Shack. Jesus says to the Dad, “It’s better if we do it together.” This has been a major source of comfort for her. She carries a wooden comfort cross to every ultrasound, holding it tightly in her hoodie pocket as a reminder that everything will be okay.
Amy and Frank, your unwavering faith and patience will make you incredible parents, and your story will inspire so many others. Aaron and I were truly honored to capture this special season of your lives, and we cannot wait to meet your little baby girl!
