The ceremony took place at a private residence overlooking Lake Erie. While the wind added a little drama to the day, the weather stayed wonderfully warm for an October wedding. The lakeside setting provided a serene and intimate atmosphere for McKenzie and Christopher to exchange vows.

A particularly touching moment was when McKenzie’s grandmother, unable to attend in person, joined the ceremony via FaceTime. As McKenzie walked down the aisle, it was clear that her grandmother was deeply connected to the moment, sharing in the joy from afar. It was a beautiful reminder of how family love transcends physical distance.

A Stylish Reception at 21 Brix Winery

The celebration continued at 21 Brix Winery, where McKenzie and Christopher’s reception took place. The winery, with its sleek modern black-and-white decor, set the stage for an elegant evening. From heartfelt speeches to their first dance, the couple was surrounded by their closest family and friends, all celebrating their new beginning together.

One of the most meaningful moments came when McKenzie wore a family heirloom: pearls passed down through generations. McKenzie’s great-grandmother received the nearly 100-year-old pearls on her wedding day, and her grandmother later passed them on to McKenzie, who wore them in her honor since she couldn’t attend the wedding. It was a beautiful way to keep the family traditions alive and close to her heart on such an important day.
