CARLI & RYAN
From the moment I arrived at Carli & Ryan’s big day, I knew it was going to be something truly special. This colorful Johnsonburg Wedding was filled with emotion, thoughtful details, and personal touches that made it completely unforgettable.
Carli wore her mom’s wedding dress (yes, really!), and it was such a beautiful, sentimental moment. Watching her step into something that carried so much history was incredibly moving. She shared a sweet first look with both her dad and her brother, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. It was such a tender, quiet moment before the joyful chaos of the day kicked off.
And speaking of chaos—the weather had quite the personality that day. It was cold, windy, and even decided to throw some rain and snow into the mix. But somehow, it worked. The skies cleared just in time for us to grab some quick portraits at Ryan’s grandparents’ house, including some must-have shots by a special tree that meant a lot to the couple. These are the moments I live for—chasing light, finding beauty in the unexpected, and capturing real love.
Bright Colors and Big Feelings
This colorful Johnsonburg Wedding had one of the most vibrant and joyful bridal parties I’ve had the pleasure of photographing. Think spring tones, big laughs, and a group that was down for anything—even in freezing temps. One of my favorite details was the bride’s grandmother wearing a pair of her heirloom white shoes, complete with delicate organza bows. She had worn them 25 years earlier at her son’s wedding, and seeing them again was such a sweet reminder of the love and tradition that carried through the generations.
The Sweetest Full-Circle Moment
What made this colorful Johnsonburg Wedding extra meaningful for me was how it all came full circle. I met Carli’s parents at another wedding years ago—we connected over dinner and hit it off. I never would’ve guessed that years later, I’d be the one photographing their daughter’s wedding! It was such an honor. I also got to work alongside Anna, which made the day even more fun and special.
This colorful Johnsonburg Wedding will always have a special place in my heart. It was joyful, meaningful, a little wild with the weather—and absolutely perfect.
