I was thrilled when Shaina reached out to schedule her maternity session! I know her personally as a co-worker, and last summer our daughter, Claire, spent 10 days with Shaina in Europe on a school trip. She always goes above and beyond to create amazing experiences, so I was especially excited to capture Shaina and Adam as they prepared for their own incredible journey into parenthood.
On the evening of their session, we met at their family home, and I was immediately struck by how much fun they were having together. Honestly, it felt like I wasn’t even there! Their focus was completely on each other, and the connection was so sweet. I only needed to give a little direction—where to stand and how to work with the strong backlighting. From there, Shaina and Adam took over.
If you’re unsure what to do during a session, don’t worry—I’ll guide you! I position clients, offer prompts for natural interaction, and make small adjustments to ensure every shot is flattering. After that, it’s all you. Just enjoy the moment and focus on each other.
