A Saint Maria Goretti Parish Wedding
Dominic and Morgan were married at St Maria Goretti, a Catholic Church in the Bloomfield neighborhood of Pittsburgh with only their immediate family and best friends present. I know it was very different from the original guest list of almost 200, but they made the most out of everything 2020. After the ceremony, Claire and I captured their family photos and portraits at Mellon Park. I loved this location because its the same place we captured their engagement photos earlier this year.
I had a lot of moments throughout their wedding day where I felt my eyes starting to water. However, there were two specific moments that stuck out to me. Morgan and her father had an impromptu father-daugther first look that was so special. Morgan’s dad was overcome with emotions as he hugged his little girl and with Claire by my side, all I could think about was her future wedding day and being a part of watching Aaron embrace her-because I know he will be a basketcase. I also loved that the priest had the family hold hands and pray over Morgan and Dominic. When the honeymoon is over and life gets hard, they are committed to serving God and serving each other. Moments like this mean more to me now that Aaron and I have walked through hard seasons in our marriage. It’s so beautiful and so powerful to watch family surround two people and their commitment to each other.
Morgan’s childhood backyard was transformed into a fairytale with balloon arches, candles, lanterns and greens. I especially loved the string bistro lights and gold lanterns hanging from the trees! Lavender and periwinkle were painted throughout all of the day with gorgeous hydrangeas to top it all off. Morgan shared with me they were her grandmother’s favorite flower and I find it so special that she was able to honor her that way.
This was such a beautiful day. The weather, the couple, the celebration… it was perfect and we were so honored to be a part of it. Enjoy some of my favorites!! Congrats Dominic and Morgan!! I hope your honeymoon is amazing!
